Rita Lombardi , 94, the wife of the late Frank Lombardi, died on Saturday January 24, 2015. Born in Taftville, CT she was the daughter of Alfred and Bernadette (Courchiene) Savignac. Rita was a resident of East Hartford before moving to Manchester in 1949. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Manchester Area Conference of Churches with their church mouse group and at the soup kitchen. Rita is survived by her son John and his wife Diane of Manchester, her grandchildren Steven and his wife Amy and Frank and his wife Jessica and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, and Ashley and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Rita was predeceased by her brothers, Antonio, Delphis, and Alphonse. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Thursday (January 29) at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9-11 on Thursday.
