Rustu "Rudy" Caliskan Rudy, 63, past away peacefully on Sunday January 4, 2015 with his wife by his side at his home in Winter Springs, Florida Rudy was born on March 26, 1951 in Bulgaria to Ismail and Saadet Caliskan. He and his family moved to Istanbul, Turkey when he was a baby. After serving in the army for 2 years he moved to the United States in his early twenties where he eventually made Connecticut his home for more than 40 years. He worked more than 15 years at Foxwoods Casino and made many friends while working there. Rudy and his wife Julia moved to Winter Springs, Florida to retire a couple years ago. Julia was always there by his side and as he said to one of his nurses she's his angel. Rudy is survived by his mother Saadet Caliskan of Istanbul, Turkey, his wife Julia Caliskan, his brother Mustafa Caliskan and his two sisters Nezahat Caliskan and Semahat Sevemili. His four daughters and their husbands Jenna and Jeffrey Rancourt, Belgin and Marcus Brown, Stephanie and Matthew Young, and Jeylan and Andrew Wentworth daughters of Donna Ohlhof . He's also survived by his eight loving grandkids Taylor, Brittany, Donovan, Austin, DeAnna, Braelyn, Ryan, Jameson and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Friday January 9,2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Tierney's Funeral Home 219 West Center St. in Manchester, Ct. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 10,2015 at 10:00am at Bolton Congregational Church in Bolton, Ct. Family and friends are asked to meet at Tierney's Funeral Home at 9:00am Saturday January 10, 2015 first. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rudy's life.
