We are sooo sorry for your loss. Our Casey loved her dearly as he does your family. She fought so hard to stay here, but has earned her angel wings. She is soaring high and free in the clouds above and will always be with you. Sending lots of love and light. Art and Maureen (Big Daddy A and Mama Sco) xxooxx

Jim, Tye Calderwood and I send our sincerest condolences to you on Karen's passing. Although I only met Karen a couple of times, we instantly bonded and shared laughs over our New Jersey connection and our favorite band, Bon Jovi!! She was a fabulous person and I can only hope to have the strength within that she had to handle her personal struggle with such grace.

Karen was AMAZING at her job as our department secretary at East Hartford High School. Many of us relied on her for help or to get the job done. This story however, is not about her secretarial abilities. I was fortunate enough to see another one of Karen's AMAZING talents. She was a true GUITAR HERO champion. Another teacher and myself were organizing an after school event for our team and once Karen caught wind that we would be playing a Guitar Hero tournament, she immediately asked if she could play. She rocked that guitar and crushed many of our students who looked at her in awe as I did. This is how I will remember Karen. She had a free spirit and remained young at heart. Those of us that had a chance to be captivated by Karen and her energy will never forget what an incredible person she was. As she would say......"ROCK ON Baby!"

So many stories, so much laughter.
Jim and my husband Pete enjoy cars so one year we took the train to NYC to attend the car show at the Javits Center. This is the year Kia introduced their Sportage model with the crazy commercials of people off roading and shouting "i-e-a". Don't you know we came across that vehicle on display so Karen and I jumped in the car, started bouncing around and helling "i-e-a" as if we were in the commercial. Yes, some people took pictures but laughing until my guts hurt was the best part.

I was so lucky to work with Karen. Not only was she the glue that held our department together (Loved our Ladies Dinners and the department parties at your house!) but she was also the oil that made things run smoothly! More importantly she was a great friend and advisor. I learned a lot about raising a teenager from her! We shared a love of music. I'm glad she got to make the trip to the Rock Hall! She probably could have created several of the exhibits there! Her fighting spirit and great laugh will never be forgotten!
