George J. Tonski, 75, husband of Lois-Jane (Cratty) Tonski died on Saturday (March 10, 2012) at Hartford Hospital. George was born in Hartford the son of the late Joseph and Wilhelmina (Sacherek) Tonski, graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1954 and had lived in Rockville for 41 years. He was a member of IUOE # 478 and retired after 55 years of service and had also worked at Amberbell, Co of Rockville. He was a life time member of the Rockville Lodge of Elks, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Vernon Historical Society and an avid Detroit Tiger fan. Besides his wife Lois, he is survived by his son Joseph M. Tonski, Sr. and his wife Lisa of Rockville; and his daughters Marysia Ann Adams and her husband Robert of Manchester, Sherry-Lynn Amaral and her husband John Bogner of Wilmington, NC, Sheila-Lee Williams and her husband Peter of Stafford Springs and Sylvia-Louise Onthank and her husband Robert of South Windsor. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph Tonski, Jr., George Tonski, Jennifer Zachorewitz, Justin Zachorewitz, Christopher Adams, Jeffery Adams, Robert Adams, Todd Belanger, Colin Williams, Adam Russell, Emily Williams and her fiancée Andrew Tarry, Leah-Jane Russell and her fiancée Mark Rogers; his great grandson Rylan Rodgers; his sister Wilma O'Connell of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and his niece and nephews Pamela, Peter and Patrick Cornell. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church Rockville, followed by burial in Grove Hill Cemetery.
