Obituary of Lawrence L. Nevins
Lawrence L Nevins, Sr., 72, of Manchester, died Thursday, December 11th, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born on December 3, 1942 in Everett, Massachusetts, son of the late Albert and Margaret Nevins.
Larry was a man of many talents with a sharp wit and brilliant mind. He could fix anything and no problem was too big or too small for him to solve. After his retirement, he spent countless hours in his woodworking shop making exquisite handcrafted items. Larry's greatest pleasure came from being with his family and friends. He was happiest at those times. He especially looked forward to Saturday morning breakfast each week with family and the fun get togethers with the "BBs". A place that holds special memories in his heart was the family cottage at Lake Ossipee overlooking the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, to whom he was married for 46 years. He also leaves his daughters, Kathleen, and her husband Joseph Colletti ; Mary, and her husband Chris Allabaugh; his son, Lawrence L. Nevins Jr.; and his most precious grandsons, Sonny, Bradan and Ronan Allabaugh.
He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Nevins of Simsbury, CT; and Richard Nevins of Burlington, CT; and a sister, Irene Shea, of Massachusetts as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Edward and Albert.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rathmann for his compassion, care and dedication as well as his team and entire staff on 8-1 at St. Francis Hospital.
