J. Roy Williams, 90, the husband of sixty-two years to Maxine (Martin) Williams died on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. He was raised in Youngstown, OH and had lived in East Hartford from 1965 until 1986, when he moved to Glastonbury. Roy served in the US Coast Guard during World War II. He taught in the Hartford Public School System and served as the Vice-principle of Fox Middle School from 1972 until his retirement in 1989. Roy is also survived by his children Michael Williams and his wife Michele of Washington, DC, Wendy Williams-Paige of Rockville, MD and Jay Williams of Glastonbury and his grandchildren Maya Williams, Michael Williams, Renwick Paige and Tristan Paige. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (11/8) at 2:00 at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester.
