Obituary of Leonid Gagnon

Leonid "Lee" Gagnon, 94, of Manchester, the beloved husband of Frances M. (Lupacchino) Gagnon died Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Derby, Vermont, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Geneva (Corrow) Gagnon. Lee was a US Navy veteran of World War II, and was a past member of the Manchester Lodge of Elks and the Knights of Columbus. He was previously employed by Colt Firearms, Gengras Motors and Newman Motors. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters Patricia Linn and her husband William of St. Mary's, KS, Lea LaVern Shattuck and her husband Charles of Heath, MA, and Mary Gagnon of Manchester, his daughter-in-law Kim Gagnon of East Hampton, and his "adopted" daughter Carol Lawton of Manchester. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, his faithful canine companion Chi-Chi and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son John Gagnon, three grandchildren and three siblings. Heartfelt gratitude to his excellent caregivers Theresa Linn (granddaughter), Natalie Lugo and St. Francis Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th at 9:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
