Obituary of Barbara Reuter
Barbara Reuter, 62, passed away on Thursday (February 23, 2012) at her home in Hartford, Connecticut. She was born on January 24th, 1950, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. She moved to the United States in 1981, and lived in Manchester, Connecticut until 2009; and Hartford, Connecticut until 2012. She worked as a paralegal at Katz & Seligman and Pepe & Hazard, both in Hartford; and previously was a dedicated stay at home mother in Manchester. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Stefanie Reuter; her son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Katherine Reuter; her mother, Jadwiga Bujak; and her brothers, Martin Bujak and Les Bujak.
Barbara will be remembered as a avid consumer of life who took pleasure in the little things every day. Her children were the beneficiaries of an overabundance of love, support, and encouragement. She loved to travel, play tennis, ski, go camping, cook, and experience new things. She was the local card shark on Knollwood Road. She was an incredibly generous mother and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and especially by her family, who will carry her in their hearts and spirits forever.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 29th, from 6- 8 p.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1st, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew's Parish 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester.
