Michael L. Masilonis, 71, of Vernon, the husband of Terri (Caldera) Masilonis died peacefully in his sleep on Monday July 21st, 2014. His final days were surrounded by immediate family and loved ones. Michael was born on September 11th, 1942 in Passaic, NJ to parents Louis and Adele. He grew up in East Hartford, CT, attended East Hartford High School and the University of Connecticut and has lived in Vernon since 1970. Friends and family were always ready for his quick wit and creative nick names; if you didn't have one, you wanted one. He loved the Cleveland Indians, New York Giants, grilling out, road trips, summer vacations with his family in Misquamicut beach where he was the perennial body surfing champion, and he never found a chili dog he didn't love. But most of all, he loved his family and would do anything for them. He was strong and fought until the end and he will be missed dearly. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Tracey and Michael, son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Katie, and grandchildren Jake, Mia and Emily. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Bianca and her husband James Massey; his nephews Lee, Mark and Scott Massey; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his niece Bonnie B. Massey and nephew Michael Massey. Family and friends may call at the John F.
