Obituary of Patricia Johnson

Patricia F. Johnson of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Bob Johnson, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. She will be sorely missed by her husband of 60 years and her daughters Cindi, Cheri, Sandi and Chris as well as their respective spouses Greg Gajewski, Andy Rainey, and Troy Hersom. Pat was welcomed to Heaven by Chris' husband, Jim Neagle, who passed away in December of 2013. Sharing in that grief are Pat's 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren who enlivened their Nana's days. Born on November 12, 1931, she was the daughter of Clifford Fox and Alice Decker Fox. Pat was raised in Trumbull, Connecticut, graduated from New Haven State Teacher's college and taught at several elementary schools in various locations while traveling with her husband as he served in the U.S. Navy. She then devoted her time to being a homemaker and raising her 4 daughters. Pat spent many years as a Girl Scout leader in Glastonbury, and also served as a "second" mom to numerous friends of her children. In her late forties, she returned to school to earn her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, and subsequently served as the Director of Knight Hall School in West Hartford. Pat loved camping, reading, gardening, cooking and was especially good at creating a sense of home, warmth and family which endeared her to all. She had a marvelous sense of humor which brought giggles to friends and family, even during her illness.
