Gertrude Simone Corbin, 94, the wife of the late Lucien L. Corbin died on Sunday (July 13, 2014) in East Hartford. Born in Waterville, ME, the daughter of Solomon and Marie (Rossignol) Cyr she had been a resident of East Hartford for many years. Gertrude was formerly employed at Royal Typewriter and later at Data Mail. She was a former member of the St. Christopher’s Church Ladies Guild, the Civil Conservation Corp and a volunteer for the U.S.D.A. She is survived by her brother and his wife Valmon and Constance Cyr of Milford, PA; her special godchildren and her friend and sister-in-law Vera Cyr. She was also predeceased by her siblings Anita Daigle, Philemon Cyr, Robert Eddy Cyr, Alphonse Cyr, Patrick Cyr and Lillian Levesque. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16th at 9:15 from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewers St. East Hartford with entombment in St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford.
