Obituary of Margaret M. McAuley

Margaret M. McAuley,91, formerly of Manchester, died on Saturday, July 12, at Salmon Brook Center. She was the wife of the late James F. McAuley. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of Edward and Catherine McCormick, she had lived in Manchester for many years and was a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service. Besides spending time with her family, Peg greatly enjoyed playing the drums and spoons and also loved listening to Irish music. She is survived by her son Thomas Quinn of Terryville, her daughters Maryjane Cross of NH and Eileen Jenkins of AL and many grand and great grandchildren who will greatly miss her. She is also survived by her step-son James McAuley and step-daughter Judith Gibilisco. Peg's family would like to express a special note of thanks to the staff at Salmon Brook for their exceptional care. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (7/15) at 11:00am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester followed by interment in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday (7/15) 9:30-11:00.
