Karolyn Alice (Burke) Hagearty, 73, the wife of Richard F. Hagearty died on Sunday (June 22, 2014) at her home in Manchester. Karolyn was born in Manchester the daughter of William and Bertha (Novak) Burke and lived here most of her life. She was a graduate of Regis College, Class of 1963 and had been employed at Mechanics Savings Bank and later with Webster Bank. She was a former volunteer librarian at Highland Park School. Karolyn and Dick met at the St. Patrick's Day parade in New York City and on April 18th of this year celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Beside her husband she is survived by her children and their spouses Sean T. Hagearty and Beth of Hebron, Maura Overland and Christian of Ypsilanti, MI and Erin Jensen and Christopher of Waltham, MA; her grandchildren Elizabeth Karolyn, Emma Catherine and Katherine Rose Hagearty; William Jacob, Alice Rose and Evan C. Burke Overland and Chloe Diane, Eli Rowland and Jane Eva Jensen; her sister Patricia Tarpey and her husband James of Wakefield, MA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (June 25th) at 10:15 from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 west Center St. Manchester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 at St. James Church, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 0 8:00.
