Agatha "Gerry" FitzPatrick Ruff, 78, of Niantic and Manchester, beloved wife of John Ruff, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at her home. Gerry was born on January 31, 1936 in Manchester, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Geraldine FitzPatrick. She married John on May 4, 1957 and in the early years of their marriage enjoyed raising her four daughters. She later went on to a career in retail management, retiring over 20 years ago. With her husband and family, Gerry traveled to Ireland, continental Europe and the Caribbean and also enjoyed time in their Florida condo. Gerry loved living near the ocean, spending time with her family and creating her special dishes for parties and holiday gatherings. In addition to her husband of 57 years, she leaves her four daughters, Gerrianne and Roger Celinski of Coventry, Laurie and Sean Dyer of Tolland, Tracy Fitz Patrick of Arcata, CA and Kelly and Alphonse Carvalho of Manchester; her grandchildren, Leigh Lessard and husband Andrew of Glastonbury, Katie Wilson and husband Justin of Tolland, Andrew Celinski and wife Heather of Portland, Melissa Purcell of Manchester and Paul Purcell of Manchester; and her great-grandchildren whom she adored, Ellie, Natalie and Drew Lessard, Emma, Evan and Ethan Wilson and Calvin and Wyatt Celinski. She is also survived by her brother Brian Fitzpatrick and wife Linda of Montpelier, VT, her sister-in law Ina FitzPatrick, several cousins, nieces, nephews and her dear friends Anna Mae Martin and Gerry Taylor. She was predeceased by her brother, John Fitzpatrick and her sister, Mary Rago. Family and friends may call at the John F.
