Obituary of Daniel J. Harvey
Daniel "Danny" J. Harvey, 62, beloved husband of Monique Harvey, entered into eternal peace at his Manchester home on Friday, April 11, 2014. He was the son of Gerard Harvey of New Brunswick, Canada and Theresa Harvey of South Windsor.
Dan was born on October 15, 1951 in Van Buren, Maine and raised in New Brunswick. He and his family relocated to Manchester in 1967 where he was a member of the MHS class of 1970. Shortly after graduating, Dan would then learn the roofing and siding trade from Raymond LaBelle. Anxious to expand his talents, Dan opened Dan Harvey Home Remodeling in 1974. The highlight of his building career was his association with U&R Construction and owner Ludis Upenieks. From 1978 until Ludis built his last house in 2002, Dan was responsible for the roofing and siding of hundreds of U&R homes. His work ethic and pride in his craftsmanship was a hallmark of the quality of U & R homes. In his final years, Dan so enjoyed the company of the staff at Tankworks and Teddy's Oil and The Rainville Family. He will be dearly missed by those who had the pleasure of spending time with him. In addition to his wife and parents, Dan is survived by his sister Diane Harvey and her husband Dr. W. Barrios, his three children Todd and his wife Roxanne Harvey, Travis Harvey, Tonya Harvey, and his grandchildren Raiden and Bodhi Harvey. In addition he leaves his stepchildren Yves, Jinny and fiancé Eric Truchon, and Pascal and grandchildren Emma and Jeannick St. Pierre, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves his cherished canine puppy Nikko. He was predeceased by his closest and long time German Shepherd friend Bear. In Celebration of Dan's life, Mass will be held at St. Bridget Church 80 Main Street Manchester on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:00AM. Donations in Dan's memory may be made to St. Bridget School Scholarship Fund, 74 Main St. Manchester, CT 06040. Arrangements have been entrusted to John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester, CT.
