Obituary of Anthony Buyak
Anthony "Tony" Buyak, 91, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Friday April 4th. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Shirley Buyak. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna Buyak and was a graduate of Hartford Public High School.
He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters Stanley Buyak, Joseph Buyak, Jessie Rudeen, and Jen Slavis.
Tony served in the U.S. Army in World War II as a member of the Signal Corps, and had a long career in the Accounts Payable Department at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, retiring after 45 years. He lived in Manchester most of his life and was a parishioner of St. James Church.
Tony was a kind and gentle man who loved his family, especially Shirley, his "Honey". He and his family vacationed at Hampton Beach, where he enjoyed body surfing and walks along the shore. He was known for his love of spring and summer, and could usually be found outside either raking or on his riding lawnmower.
Tony will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his four children and their spouses, Donna and Bruce Samborski of Manchester, James and Laurin Buyak of Greenland NH, Debbie and Tom Corso of Lebanon, and Doreen and Dave Eigner of Columbia; his grandchildren Andy and Emily Samborski, Jessica Couture and her husband Mark, Jamie and Michael Buyak, Justin, Rebecca, Nick and Joel Corso, and Michelle and Kimberly Eigner; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (April 9th) at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 am at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7 pm.
