Obituary of Mark J. Sullivan

Mark J. Sullivan, 65, the husband of Carol A. Sullivan died on Friday (March 28, 2014) at his home. Born in Manchester the son of Timothy George and Gertrude (Tobin) Sullivan, he had lived in Manchester all his life. Mark received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and his Master's from Central Connecticut State University. He taught at Robinson School in West Hartford, and later at Nathan Hale, Bowers, and Buckley Schools in Manchester. He was the treasurer of the Manchester Education Association, the past President of the Lion's Club in Manchester, and a member of the Irish American Home. Besides Carol, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Kathleen Sullivan of Vienna, VA, his daughter Patricia Hickman and her husband Kennedy of State College, PA, his grandson Liam, and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother George Sullivan. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center Street, Manchester on Monday (3/31) from 4-8. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St. Manchester, followed by burial in East Cemetery, Manchester.
