Obituary of Elizabeth Fiano Chieffo
Elizabeth (Batignani) Fiano Chieffo of Bolton died Thursday (March 20, 2014) at the age of 106. Elizabeth was born in Italy, the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Armida (Angeloni) Batignani, and moved to Bolton at the age of 14. She was predeceased by her husbands Antonio Fiano and Lou Chieffo. Elizabeth had worked on her family farm and was an owner and hostess at Fiano's Restaurant in Bolton. She was formerly very active in the Manchester Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary and greatly enjoyed her time in the St. Maurice Church choir. Elizabeth also had a love for flowers and would often bring flowers for the altar at St. Maurice. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Elizabeth is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rocco and his wife Helen, Lawrence and his wife Rose, Francis and his wife Wanda all of Bolton, Valentino and his wife Paula of Florida, Anthony and his wife Marilyn and Paul all of Bolton. She is also survived by numerous grand-children, great-grand-children, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, she was predeceased by her son Enrico and his wife Joan, her daughter-in-law Valerie, her brothers Frederick and Serafino, and her sister who died at a young age. Calling hours will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. Manchester, from 4-7 on Monday (3/24). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday (3/25) at 11:00 at St. Maurice Church, 32 Hebron Rd., Bolton followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
