Emily (Ramino) Shea, 93 of Manchester, CT the beloved wife of Robert L. Shea died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, two days after celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary (2/24/1943). She was the daughter of Catherine (Boccucci) and Robert Ramino. Besides her husband she is survived by her son Robert Shea and his wife Elizabeth, her daughter Laurie Troie and her husband Roger; her grandchildren, Ryan Shea and his wife Carrie, Colin Shea and his wife Aimee, Brian Troie and his wife Julie and Kristin Troie; and her great-grandchildren Corey, Maya and Maddox. She is also survived by her sisters Betty Lapitsky, Louise Gueser and Rosemarie Roach; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Lillian Piegrossi, Fred Ramino and Robert Ramino. After high school Emily worked for Sage Allen Co., Aetna Life Insurance, and Cushman Chuck & Co. She spent time with her husband at Camp Lejeune, NC Marine Base. They came back to Connecticut and settled in Manchester in 1948. Emily was a very devoted wife and mother. Her love for cooking made for many memorable occasions. She was a deeply religious person who always put her family first. Her family would like to thank Riverside Health Care Center staff for their help and understanding in caring for Emily, and Masonicare for their support and guidance. Funeral service will be held on Monday (March 3rd) at 10:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption 29 Adams Street South, Manchester followed by burial in Hillstown Road Cemetery, Manchester.
