Cyr J. Parent, 87, of Manchester, the husband of 60 years to Carline (Marquis) Parent died Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born in Pittsfield, MA he was the son of the late Alphy and Lottie (Cyr) Parent, was raised in Van Buren, ME and had lived in Manchester for many years. Cyr was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Local 43 Carpenter's Union after 30 years of service. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses; Carl and Yvette Parent of East Harford, Ellen Parent and Peter Johnson of Columbia, Louise and Jean Paul Bolduc of Marlborough, Henry and Wanda Parent of Ellington and William and Elaine Parent of Manchester; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Mona and Clarence St. Jean of Brooklyn, CT, Mary Dubay of Columbia, CT, Mable and Adrian Ouelette of Broad Brook, CT and Rosaire and Sharon Parent of Lebanon, CT and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings Margaret Lapage and her husband Norman, Robert Parent and his wife Verna, Alphy "Porky" Parent and his wife Donetta, Mildred Bouchard and her husband Gerard, and brother-in-law Kenneth Dubay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 28th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption 29 Adams Street South, Manchester followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
