Obituary of Alice L. Heidcavage

Alice L. Heidcavage, 90, of Manchester, the beloved wife of the late Anthony L. Heidcavage died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 13, 2014. Born in Exeter, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Stephanie Stabinsky, and had lived in Manchester for many years. An active communicant at the Church of the Assumption, she was a member of the Legion of Mary, and served as a Eucharistic Minister for over 10 years. Alice truly enjoyed her time with her family, polka dancing and weekend trips with her polish friends. A loving mother, Babci, and friend, she is survived by her children Sandra Fransen and her husband Ronald of Wisconsin, Doris Gaffney and her fiancé Dan Shea of Manchester, Jeanne Bania and her husband Stephen of Hebron, and Karen McIntyre and her husband John of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her sister Janet Yudiski of Exeter, PA and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph and several siblings. Alice's family would like to offer a special note of thanks to the staff at Hartford Hospital Hospice Unit and VNA Hospice Care. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (February 19th) at 10:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption 27 Adams Street South, Manchester, followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Program for the VNA 8 Keynote Drive Vernon, CT 06066.
