Obituary of Philip Sullivan

Philip J Sullivan Jr. died peacefully in his sleep on Jan 30, 2012. He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Marilyn , his daughter Erin, her husband John Petrone and granddaughter Olivia, his daughter Keara and her fiancé Benjamin Tabellione. Phil was the son of Ann and the late Philip Sullivan Sr. He also leaves a sister and two brothers, Patricia and Fred Ardery of West Suffield, Dr. Thomas and Sue Sullivan of Centreville VA, Robert and Mary Sullivan of Bolton, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends. Philip was a devoted member of Assumption Parish in Manchester, volunteering much of his time to the parish and local community. A graduate from the University of Connecticut, Phil was a loyal fan of the UCONN Huskies. He worked at The Hartford Courant before starting his own sales and marketing company, The Dover Agency. Phil was a long time member of the Irish American Home Society, was a great devotee of Irish music and dance and will forever be remembered for his gift of Irish blarney! Funeral service will be held on Thursday (February 2nd) at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center Street Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at the Church of the Assumption 29 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Assumption 285 West Center St. Manchester, CT 06040.
