Peter Paul Toland, 86, a long-time resident of Manchester, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends, in Danbury, CT on Monday, December 30, 2013. Peter, originally from Castlederg, County Tyrone in Northern Ireland, was the beloved husband to Eileen Lennon Toland for 56 years. She passed on February 12, 2013, and their devotion and love for each other flowed very deeply. Peter is survived by his four children: Mary Toland Koehler (and her fiancé Michael Shaw) and her children: Nathanael, Kristen and Stephen Koehler of Orlando, Florida; Brian (and Andrea) Toland and their children: Bryna and Peter of Huntsville, Alabama; Paul (and Linda) Toland and their children: Erika, Nicole and Wes of Bowie, Maryland; and Sean (and Eliette Matos) Toland and their children: Sean-Hector, Eamon-Antonio and Diana-Eileen of Bethel, CT; and his sister, Margaret Toland O'Grady, and brothers: Thomas and Eamon Toland all in Ireland; as well as many nieces and nephews, here in the states, Ireland, U.K. and Australia. Peter was a devoted and loving husband and father. He always had a smile and joke; had a camera in hand; loved to play golf, bowl, go fishing, tend his roses, and sing. He had worked at Manchester Memorial Hospital for many years and was a devout parishioner at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Manchester. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11th at 9:00 a.m. at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Main Street, Manchester at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be at St. Bridget's Cemetery.
