Chamberlain, Angela Sillano Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Angela Sillano Chamberlain, passed away on March 5, 2008, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She became ill unexpectedly while visiting her son and daughter-in-law in California. Angela was born at home in Bolton on November 5, 1923, the youngest of six children, to the late Silvano and Madeline (Saglio) Sillano. She grew up on the family farm in Bolton, attended a one-room schoolhouse, and graduated from Manchester High School in 1940. Angela met her husband, Walt, when she was eight years old, and told her sister "that's the boy I'm going to marry." They did marry in 1942, and shared sixty years of devotion to each other, until his passing in 2003. It's comforting for us to know that they are together again. Walt and Angela moved to Andover in 1951, to the house Walt built himself, where she dedicated her life to making a home filled with warmth, love and caring for her family. It was easy to be with Angela, since she took a genuine interest in people and only wanted the best for everyone she knew. Not one drawn to material things, her greatest joys in life were the time she spent with her family and friends, raising vegetables and flowers in an acre-sized garden, and walking through the woods and fields that she and Walt owned, enjoying the wildflowers and wildlife living there. She was a prolific letter-writer throughout her life, right up until her passing. Angela moved to Hop River Homes in Andover in 2006, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and caring of many good friends. She is survived by her children, William Chamberlain and his wife, Perla, whom Angela loved like a daughter, and Nancy Chamberlain Solomon and her husband, Elliot, of whom Angela always said, "Nancy picked the best one." She was "Grandma" to her grandchildren, Anthony Chamberlain, Alan Chamberlain, and Nora Chamberlain Koepp and her husband, Paul, and her great-grandsons, P.J. and Austin Koepp, and was the most loved and loving "Nana" to her grandson, Jeffrey Solomon, his wife Sarah and the light of her life, her great-granddaughter, Rebecca, and to her granddaughter, Emily Solomon, with whom she shared a special affinity. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Isabel Chamberlain Valenti and her husband, Sam, her sister-in-law, Grace Sillano, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Angela was predeceased by her brother, Louis Sillano, and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Loren Fracchia, Ann and Albert Dondero, Lillian and Frank Manfreda, and Evelyn and Benny Baronousky. Family and friends may call at the John F.Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, on Tuesday, March 18th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, March 19th, at the Bolton Congregational Church, 228 Bolton Center Road, followed by interment at Bolton Center Cemetery.
