Obituary of William Maneggia
William (Billy) Joseph Maneggia, 46, of Bolton, devoted husband of Julie (Smith) Maneggia, passed peacefully from this world on Friday, November 1, 2013 at his home. Loving son of Bill and Linda Maneggia, he was born in Manchester on Oct. 25, 1967. He attended East Catholic and was graduated from Bolton High School, class of 1986. He attended Mitchell College in New London. Billy was an outstanding athlete, excelling in both football and baseball. The Yankees and the Giants never had a more enthusiastic fan. He was an avid bird hunter with his faithful dogs Jessie and later, Bogie. Billy enjoyed working as a mover, often driving over the roads along the entire east coast. He was skilled at many other types of work, including construction, and managed his own metal recovery and recycling business for a time. Billy lives on in the hearts of family and friends: besides his beloved wife, a sister Bonnie Livingston and her husband Lawrence of Manchester, a brother, Matthew Maneggia and his wife Jill Kleiber of Hartford, his mother-in-law, Janet Smith of Willimantic, a sister-in-law, Jackie Lynch and her husband Shawn of Vernon, four nephews who brought him such special joy-- Nicholas, Henry, and Carlo Maneggia and Giovanni Livingston, many dear aunts, uncles and cousins and countless good friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to the Bolton Volunteer Fire Department for their kindness.
