Obituary of Jean-Marc Poirier
Jean-Marc Poirier, 73, the husband of Denise (Gagne) Poirier died on Saturday (October 5, 2013) at the Fox Hill Center in Vernon. Jean-Marc was born in Canada the son of the late Napoleon and Exilia (Rancourt) Poirier and had formerly lived in Hartford and Manchester before moving to Vernon eleven years ago.
He had worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years. His true passion in life was his family, he also greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the National Rifle Assoc.
Besides his wife Denise, with whom he had been married for fifty-years, Jean-Marc is survived by his children Michael Poirier and his wife Kristen of Tolland, Steven Poirier and his wife Lynn of Naugatuck and Diane Poirier and Paul Cooney of Bolton and his granddaughters Anyssa and Gabrielle Poirier. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews in Canada.
Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Friday (10/11) from 4:00-8:00. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at noon at St. James Church 896 Main St. Manchester. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to either the American Heart Assoc., the American Diabetes Assoc. or the National Kidney Foundation.
