Obituary of Angela Julia Peila
Angela Julia (Mora) Peila formerly of Manchester passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2013. She was born in Portage, Pennsylvania on July 21, 1923. She lived in Manchester, CT with her late husband of 54 years, John M. Peila Sr. They operated Peila Brothers Dairy Farm until moving to Greenfield, MA in 1989. Julie was employed at Westown Pharmacy for over 30 years. Julie loved gardening and belonged to the Manchester Garden Club and was a life member of the Greenfield Garden Club. She was a 4-H volunteer leader for twenty years teaching agriculture and life skills to youth. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild of the Church of the Assumption. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting items for them. She leaves behind three daughters and one son. Rosemarie Syme of Broad Brook CT, John M. Peila Jr. and wife Michele of Pavilion, NY, Joan Moran and husband Dennis of Trinity, NC and daughter Marjorie Peila and husband Richard Greene of Trinity, NC with whom she made her home. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (October 5th) at 10:30 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption 27 Adams St. South, Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery.
