Obituary of Earl Waggoner
Earl Joseph "Bud" Waggoner, of Manchester, passed away on Thursday, (January 12, 2012) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He was born in Centralia, Marion County, IL on October 6, 1930. Prior to moving to Manchester in 1991, he lived in Newington and Wethersfield. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Lucy (Charpentier) Waggoner. Besides his wife, he leaves four children and ten grandchildren, Michael Waggoner and wife Kim of West Hartford; children, Aubrey and Alana. Laura (Waggoner) Bickford and husband Charles of Belfast, ME; children, Mary Kate, Jordan and Will. Nancy (Waggoner) Tonucci and husband James of Wethersfield; children Alyssa, Megan and Clare. John Waggoner and wife Karen of Manchester; children, Jenna and Sarah. Stepdaughters, Valerie (Lallier) McKinney and husband Marcus of South Windsor; children, Danielle, Michael and Hope. Marie Lallier of Vermont. Chantal Lallier of Ellington and daughter Claudia Perez. Earl is also survived by his sister, Jane Mathieu of Marlborough and sister-in-law Malinda Waggoner of Vernon, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl James and Alice (Foley) Waggoner and brothers, James, Thomas and John. Earl received a BS degree from the University of Hartford. He served in the Illinois National Guard, October 1948 to January 1951 and the United States Air Force, January 1951 until October 1954, as a cryptographer during the Korean War serving the the Pacific Theater. He was employed as an Accountant at Northwest Utilities for 33 years. He was a communicant of St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester. He was a member of AARP, The American Legion, Army and Navy Club of Manchester, Association of Retired Employees of Northeast Utilities, Manchester Senior Center, and the Other Older Adult Association of Manchester Community College.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester on Monday, (January 16th) from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, (January 17th) at 9:15 a.m. at the Tierney Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Rd. Manchester. Burial will be with full military honors in East Cemetery, Center St., Manchester.
