Obituary of Renato Cimiano

Renato Earnest Cimiano born January 19, 1926 to Ottavio and Giuseppina Cimiano, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 6th surrounded by Loving Family and Friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 53 years Gladys Habiger Cimiano and a brother Gelso "Jerry" Cimiano. He leaves behind his special companion Dorothy "Dot" Garrison, a loving sister-in-law and her husband, Mildred "Mitchie" and Jim Evans of Manchester. Renato was a Dear Uncle to Eugene and Barbara Cimiano of Hartford, Robert Cimiano and his fiancé Myrtle Plourde of Vernon, David Cimiano of Sun City, AZ, Michael and Elizabeth Evans of Tolland, Diane and William Tatelman of South Windsor, Steve and Nancy Evans of Tampa, FL, and Karen and John Dundon of Manchester. He is also survived by several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Renato resided in Manchester for the last 50 years. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division 515th Parachute Infantry Regiment and was a lifelong member of the Army & Navy Club of Manchester. Renato worked for Sanitary Services for many years. He was an avid farmer his entire life, a member of the Connecticut Farm Bureau and loved to be on a tractor harvesting crops. His favorite past time activities included snowmobiling in Colrain, MA and hanging out with his friends at Botticello Farms. As he touched many lives, he will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday (January 10th) at 9 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Cyril & St. Methodius Church 55 Charter Oak Ave. Hartford, CT followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road Bloomfield, CT. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 pm. A special thanks to the Visiting Nurses and his caretaker Nana Kofi.
