Obituary of Mary Ann Donahue

Mary Ann (Luizzi) Donahue, 85, the wife of the late Lawrence Donahue, Jr. died on Thursday (July 25, 2013) at Hartford Hospital. Mary Ann was born in East Hartford, the daughter of Leonarda and Giovanni (Viniella) Luizzi and had graduated from the East Hartford Trade School as the class valedictorian. In recent years she had lived in both Manchester and Lake Worth, FL. Mary Ann had formerly worked with the State of CT at the Motor Vehicle Department. She was an active member of the Manchester Senior Citizens, a communicant of St. James Church, an original member of the European Health Spa of Manchester, and was an acknowledged seamstress. She is survived by her son Lawrence Donahue III, and his wife Sandra of Portland, ME; her daughters, Alice Wyman, and her husband Gary of Manchester, and Judy Donahue of Waterbury; her grandchildren, Luke Donahue, Emily Hardman, Joe Donahue, James Wyman, Alissa Wyman, and Deanna DuPont; her great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Kobe, Nell, and Fox; her sister, Jean Guilmette, and her husband Roger of Enfield; her brother in law Sebastian Donahue and his wife Marion of East Windsor; her dear friend Grace Perugini and her husband Al of Enfield, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, and parents, she was predeceased by her son Timothy, her brother Vincent Luizzi, and her sister Natacha Desroches. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (7/27) at 9:15 from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 at St. James Church, Main St. Manchester with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home TODAY (7/26) from 4-8. Memorial donations may be made to St. James School, 73 Park St., Manchester, CT.
