Mr. Doorman was my mentor, he was the reason why I succeeded as a Marine during the Vietnam war. I am eternally grateful for his inspiration and caring character. This world was so much better for men like him, and it is a true loss for all who were students under his care. I am convinced that when the time comes we will all be doing push ups in heaven. May God bless you Mr Dooman

Sincerest condolences. From '63 - '66 I was one of Mr. Dooman's PE students at Bennett Jr. High. Will always remember his exhortations to "run two abreast" to and from Charter Oak, the final sprint to the locker room, the mandatory three second count under the cold shower, and that he remembered you decades later...and how much fun was the total volley ball game he invented for the small gyms at the rec building where you could hit and play it off any surface?

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Dave. I had been a very long time friend of Dave during our many years of officiating soccer games together. He was a special person to me and he will be greatly missed on the soccer field and while working at Tallwood golf course. I am attending a College Soccer Referee convention in Denver, CO and could not attend his viewing.
