Condolences to the Walsh family from me, my family and all of the Bobby's extended family at ASD. Many of us just learned of Bobby's passing and are so saddened by the news. As has already been said...Bobby was one the real good guys. Haven't seen him in some time but when I/we did, he always brightened our day. Rest in peace buddy.

We all have special childhood memories and one of my favorites occurred while The Frances Street Kids played sandlot football in Robbie Saunders' backyard. I was "Tony Barrett's Little Brother" for a reason, scrawny as I was, and there were two Bobbies on the street, "Little Bobbie (Gentile)" and "Big Bobbie (Walsh)." When my Dad got out of the car to watch us engage in a few plays, I proudly said, "Watch this Dad!" as I got into position and soon thereafter was FLATTENED by Big Bobby with football in his hand and an eagerness to run like a Bull on a mission. And he was all of 12 or so? I didn't tackle him, per se. It was more the fact that my arms and legs flailed from being hit by him and they got tangled in his own legs which brought him down on that play. :) He was a good kid and, from a recent conversation with Matt, a good man who was leading a good life. I was very happy to know that good lives do result from solid beginnings. And I sincerely thank all the Walsh's for being part of mine and Tony's childhood. Your positive effect upon he and I never left our hearts and thoughts.

Bobby was one of my mentors growing up on Frances Dr.. Arguably one of the greatest athletes to come out of our town. Always willing to spend time to teach a little snot nosed kid down the street. Truly a heart and soul bigger then most people. Bobby you will be missed by many. To the Walsh family our love and prayers go out to you all. Patrick Farrell & family.

My condolence to the Walsh family. Very sad to hear the news. I pledged ASD side by side with Bob and always enjoyed his company. We also lived down the hall from each other and spent a lot of time together. I will think of him often.

Condolences to the Walsh family and friends. A big loss to the many lives that Bobby touched in his own unique and special way. Our 4 years at AIC/ASD were both fun and reflective, for as carefree as Bobby appeared he was a deep thinker with a true sense of justice and caring. That carried forth in his career. Bobby had an original style, from his clothes, dances, "quoteism's" snarly laugh and yellow bug. I'll never forget our week trip to Cape Cod together in that car and how he asked me an "ECHS Eagle" to travel with him and his MHS buddies. Bobby had a way of connecting with all people across cliques and making all feel welcome. He was a true friend and fraternity brother. It is sad that distance and making our own way in life limits the times shared into adulthood. Know though that Bobby was admired for his special gifts and friendship. May he rest in peace now and may the memory of his kindness and genuineness live on in his boys.

Prayers and thoughts are with the Walsh family,Bobby was a special person and has left us too early but he has now found peace and is a shinning star above, he is once again in the arms of his mom and dad. I remember Bobby as a teenager and child that was always welcomed in our homes and lives, we will miss Bobby but hopefully all the prayers will help with the acceptances of his departure and keep all his memories alive.

Some random memories: Bobby and I spending the night in the emergency room after we both got hit by the same beer mug...living next door to him in "The Downtown Lounge...splitting wood for the cabin and jumping into the pond afterward...naked ice skating!...Bob running by all of us, untouched, with the football…mountain laurels in bloom...fall wedding on the porch of the big house..."There I was, backed against the wall"...teaching me to use a canoe and fish for bass...”Night Swimming” in the pond…falling through the ice and getting stuck in the snow...the little red Sears house...Gillette's Castle...the ferry...the little house in the woods...Josef born the day before my nephew…discussing the philosophy of life around a fire, a thousand times...the annual ‘Burning of the Christmas Tree’…getting snowed in…Watch Hill…me and Simone, Godfather and Godmother, riding to Aidan’s christening on my motorcycle…the little swimming hole in the woods…The Mighty Quinn…meeting at the beach…bow ties…old blue Volvo…surfcasting…cutting the rug…and so, so many laughs and good times... Bobby has been one of my closest friends for most of my life. He has shared his life and home and family with me as if we were brothers. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family and the rest of us who will miss the happiness he generated.

To the Entire Walsh Family: My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief and sorrow. I have not been good about keeping in touch over the years, but I have great memories of interacting with the family throughout my childhood. Bobby and I were good friends and classmates in elementary school and played together in our neighborhood, usually with Matt and Katrine. That was when kids played outside and knew how to have fun! Later, Katrine and I participated in sports together at Bennet and MHS. I am sorry to hear of your loss and hope that Bobby has found peace. May the joy and love you shared and many memories you have keep him alive in your hearts forever.

To the Walsh family: On behalf of my family, and the extended ASD family, I would like to offer our sympathies and condolences on your loss. Bobby was a special man, friend, and brother, and he will be sorely missed. What I will recall most when I think of him can be summed up in one word: FUN! I spent many hours in his room at ASD, reading aloud to him from this novel and that one. A practice which encouraged me to volunteer at Reading For The Blind, and made me a better actor overall. His friendship and brotherhood made my time in college more enjoyable, and he will be missed. May he Rest In Peace. Just can't believe it...

My prayer's and thoughts go out to the Walsh family. I had not seen Bobby in about 5 years. When I saw him last he gave a big hug and ask how I was before I was able to ask him. He seemed real happy. I hope you find peace and comfort knowing what a great friend and teammate he was to all of us. God bless.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Walsh family. Although I didn't see Bobby often over the past many years, when I did it was like time didn't pass. We would talk like we had seen each other only the day before. The last time I saw him was at UCONN some years ago when our children were playing in the regionals. He was incredibly proud of his boys and their talents. He was a kind and gentle man with a Big heart. I wish we had been in touch more, I wish he had reached out - I'll miss my dear friend.
