Obituary of Reginaldo Pinto
Reginaldo (Reggie) Pinto, 86, who was born on November 11, 1925, the beloved husband of Alice Ferreira Pinto passed away peacefully at Manchester Manor Hospice on Friday, December 23, 2011. Reggie was born in Portugal, the son of the late father Serafin Pinto of New Bedford, MA and his mother Maria Deolinda Pinto of Coutenoas, Portugal and had lived in Manchester for sixty years. He is also survived by his children and their families Ronald Pinto and his wife Devine of New Britain and Maria D. Rawlinson and her husband Jack of Milford; his grandsons and their families Peter Wolfgang and his wife Leslie of Waterbury and their children Elizabeth, Katharine, Isaac, Rose, Frances and Marianne, his grandson Erik Wolfgang-Pinto and his wife Yanira of East Hartford and their children Jaslyn and Alexander Reginaldo and his grandson David Wolfgang of Middletown. He also leaves to mourn him his brother Roy Pinto and his wife Linda of Hanover, MD and his devoted former son-in-law Barry Wolfgang. Reggie was the Chief Photographer at the Manchester Evening Herald for forty years. Some of his photos will be on display at the funeral home. Reggie's love for his country was expressed when he enlisted in the US Navy at the age of seventeen and served on the destroyer escort USS Schmidt during World War II. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Monday (12/26) from 4-8. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the Church of the Assumption 27 Adams St South, Manchester on Tuesday at 10:00 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be followed by burial, with full military honors, in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
