Obituary of Bryce K. Carpenter

Bryce Kent Carpenter, Jr., age 63, husband of Terri-Denine Hamblett Carpenter, passed away Thursday April 25, 2013, at his home in East Haddam. He was born in Manchester on March 7, 1950, to Bryce Kent and Florence Catherine (Moriarty) Carpenter. Bryce was a 1968 graduate of Manchester High School where he co-captained the football team. He attended Bates College; Manchester Community College where he was a member of the Kappa Phi fraternity; and Eastern Connecticut State University, from which he graduated in 1973. He worked for W. G. Glenney in Manchester for several years, and for Hamilton Sundstrand in Windsor Locks for thirty-one years. He was an active Little League and Midget Football coach; Cubmaster of Pack 47; and a past officer of the British-American Club of Manchester. Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Eric and Lindsay Carpenter of San Mateo, CA, and Adam ("Ian") and Rebecca Carpenter of Oakland, CA, as well as his grandsons Ilerdon Ryan and Darby Bryce. He is survived by his parents; his brothers, Dean Carpenter of Manchester, his children and grandchildren, and Craig Carpenter and his wife Rikki of Tolland, their children and grandchildren; his mother-in-law Anita Hamblett of Coventry; his brother- and sister-in-law Steven and Colleen Hamblett of Coventry and their son; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester on Tuesday (April 30th) from 4-6 pm. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a reception at Manchester Country Club.
