The family of Anne (Meyer) Campbell announces her death at home in Manchester on April 22 , 2013. Anne was the loving and beloved wife of Charles A. Campbell. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 6, 1920, Anne was the second daughter of Leon P. and Mary (Kelly) Meyer. She grew up in Pittsburgh and Baltimore, moving to West Hartford in 1936. She graduated from Mt. Saint Joseph Academy in 1937. Anne met Charlie at her sister's wedding in August 1941, shortly before he was drafted. After corresponding during his four years of service in the Army, they married, during a blizzard, on December 1, 1945. They settled in Manchester in 1954 and moved to Vernon in 1978. While raising her children, Anne worked at Manchester Hospital, from which she retired in 1985 after 20 years of service. She was an avid card player and enjoyed many years as an active member of the Vernon Senior Center. In addition, she had been an active member of Saint Bernard's Parish, Rockville, for the past 35 years. She dedicated her life to supporting the endeavors of her husband and children. She instilled in each of her children the value of learning, a love of reading, and the passion for excellence. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charlie, and her children, Anne Campbell-Maxwell of Fishkill, NY, Claire Campbell of Manchester with whom she and Charlie have lived for the past two years, and Claire's partner, Gary Pike, Richard and Diane Campbell of Manchester and MaryBeth and Dail Heath of Virginia Beach, VA. A source of joy and pride to her, she is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Danielle (Abran) Bloom, her husband, Matthew, and their children, E.J. Wilson and Sydney Bloom of East Granby, Conor Campbell of Manchester, Stephen and Dale Maxwell and their children Sam, Benjamin, and Joseph of Amston, Richard Maxwell and his wife, Christina of Glastonbury, Stacie Campbell of Groton, and Christy (Reinholdt) Sughrue and her husband, Matt, of Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by five nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings Mary Mitney and her husband, George (Red), Leona D'Agostino, and Leo Meyer; her son-in-law, Wilfred Maxwell; and her grandson, Mark Campbell Calling hours will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday (April 24th) at the John F.
