Obituary of Ronald W. Robinson

 

Ronald Wood Robinson Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Zurich, Switzerland on August 24, 1956, the son of Ruth (Fischer) Robinson and the late Ronald Wood Robinson, Sr.

His education started at Granby High School. Ron went on to graduate with a BSME from UCONN and an MSBA from Rensselaer of Hartford. After graduation, Ron joined Pratt and Whitney as a mechanical engineer. He pursued his passion for engineering and was a dedicated employee for over 45 years. During his career, he designed engines, handled projects, provided engine services, and provided customer support throughout the world.

He spent his free time gardening or in Maine with his wife. He enjoyed bike week with his gang, and tinkering on cars or welding anything he could get his hands on.

Ron is survived by his partner of 20 years and wife, Joanne Chapais, along with his daughters; Johanna Voisine, Hillary Simmons and her husband James, and their mother Sharon (Fowler) Robinson, all currently residing in Florida. He is also survived by his sisters Katherine Lunden and Helen Spera and her husband John. In addition, he has nephews and nieces Ben & Matt Lunden, Rebecca & Kelib Spera, and extended family Nichole Chapais and Thomas Chapais. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law Barry Lunden.

Family and friends may call on the Bolton Congregational Church, 228 Bolton Center Road in Bolton, on Saturday, December 30th, 2023, from 9-11 a.m. with a funeral service immediately following.
