Obituary of Carolyn J. Melley

Carolyn Jean (Macaione) Melley, 78, of Manchester, CT, passed away on November 4, 2023, in Manchester, CT. Carolyn was born in Hartford, CT, to Joe and Rena Macaione in 1945. She graduated from Manchester High School and attended Quinnipiac University. She worked for many years in the insurance industry, earning several associate degrees and certifications. She spent time mentoring and teaching fifth graders in her spare time, before retiring from Mass Mutual in 2008. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, especially going on cruises, the UConn Huskies, kayaking and spending time with her family, who meant everything to her.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, son and four grandchildren, in addition to numerous cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Joe and Rena Macaione of Manchester, CT.

A wake for family and friends will be held at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, on Wednesday, November 8^th, from 4pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bartholomew Church, 736 Middle Turnpike E, Manchester, on Thursday, the 9^th, at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Manchester.
