Obituary of Theresa Hayward

Theresa (Phaneuf) Hayward, 92, of East Hartford, passed away on October 22, 2023. Theresa was the daughter of the late Peter and Phyllis (Kaminski) Phaneuf of Manchester, she graduated from Manchester High School, Class of 1949. Theresa worked as a supervisor at Bank of America, retiring after 25 years.

Theresa married Allen S. Hayward, moving to East Hartford, and raising her seven children – one son and 6 daughters. She leaves 8 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons, 5 great-granddaughters, 2 great-great-grandsons and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She leaves many nieces, nephews, her cousin Marian Lawton, her sister-in-law Diana Phaneuf, and her best friends Jean Jones and Jane Duval. She was predeceased by her husband Allen Sr., daughter Carol, grandson Luke, sister Dorothy Zboray and brother Eugene Phaneuf.

Family and friends may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home on Monday, October 30^th, 2023, from 9-10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church, 896 Main Street in Manchester. Burial to follow at East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the following charities American Heart Association, Dementia/Alzheimers, Danny Thomas Cancer or Shriners.
