Obituary of James A. Murray

James A. Murray, 53, the beloved husband and best friend of Jodie (Colon) Murray died on Thursday, (March 28, 2013), at Hartford Hospital. James was born in Manchester the son of Mary Jane (Footit) Murray of Manchester and the late George F. Murray and had lived there most of his life until moving to Tolland 18 years ago. Jim received his Bachelor's Degree in 1982 from Northeastern University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He was currently employed by CSE Credit Union where he had worked for twenty-eight years. Jim was a very special person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially for his great sense of humor and his fun loving attitude. He was a huge sports fan which included rooting for his favorite team, the New York Giants. Jim is also survived by his sons Tyler Murray, Ryan Murray and his girlfriend Erika Hiller and David Love all of Tolland; his sisters Patricia Murray of Manchester and Beth Hendrickson and her husband Mark of Broad Brook. He was also predeceased by his sister Maureen Murray. Other survivors include his father-in-law, Raul Colon and his wife Matilda of Puerto Rico; and his mother-in-law Marsha Schviten of Tolland; his brothers and sisters-in-law Paul Colon and his wife Pam of Vernon, Michael Colon of FL, Kim Colon of Winsted, Jeff Colon and his wife Jeannine of FL, Michele Colon of FL and Raulito Colon and his wife Sunjay of FL; and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, at 10:15 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. James Church, Manchester.
