Obituary of Jean-Louis Hebert
Jean-Louis Hebert, DDS, of Manchester, CT, and most recently Milwaukee, WI, died Saturday, December 31, at the age of 87.
Born in Franklin, NH, on May 24, 1924, to the late Henri-Paul and Lydia (nee Parenteau) Hebert, Jean-Louis was the beloved husband of Pauline (nee Coulombe) of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, for 57 years. He entered military service in 1943 after attending the Oblate Fathers Novitiate in Colebrook, NH. Upon completion of Basic Training, he was chosen to train as a Bombardier Navigator in the Army Air Corps, where he remained until 1945.
Jean-Louis attended the University of Montreal, where he met Pauline and many lifelong friends. From there, he received his Bachelor's degree and then graduated in 1952 with a degree in dental medicine. After his marriage to Pauline, Jean-Louis was then stationed at a military base in France where he served as a dentist for three years. Upon their return to the United States, they settled in Manchester where he established his dental practice. He thoroughly enjoyed his 39 years as a dentist caring for his patients and working alongside his partners and staff. He was especially proud to be in practice with his son, Peter J. Hebert, DMD, for 6 years before his retirement in 1991.
Dr. Hebert enjoyed working in the yard, skiing with family and friends, and golfing at Manchester Country Club. He pursued his passion for skiing in Canada, Europe, the Rocky Mountains, and Vermont, particularly in Stowe, and spent many winters vacationing in Florida with friends. He was a member of St. James Church in Manchester for 54 years. Jean-Louis adored his family and will be remembered for his compassion, warmth, and wonderful hugs.
Dr. Hebert was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, who died in Dec. 2009; son, Peter, who died in May 2011; brothers, Jacques, Marcel, and Henri; and sisters, Claire and Madeleine.
