Evelyn Botticello

Obituary of Evelyn M. Botticello

Evelyn (Newbury) Botticello, 99, of South Windsor passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023. She was the beloved “Deary” of the late Paul Botticello. They were married for 70 years. Her family was her world.

She is survived by her four children, Paul Botticello (Peter), Tom Botticello (Noreen), Don Botticello (Marcel), and Sue Joyce (Paul); and was affectionately known as “Gram” to her nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by five siblings (Lloyd Newbury, Dot Edwards, Jim Newbury, Betty Fetko, and Carol Frey) and is remembered fondly by her surviving brother (Bob Newbury), brother in-law (Ron Frey), and countless other family and friends.

Gram was a talented baker and would always have one of her treasured recipes waiting for visitors. She kept a list of everyone’s birthdays and favorite desserts, and never missed an opportunity to make you feel special. Gram loved country music, onion dip, and her best friend, Frankie. But most of all, she loved taking care of people. Her huge heart and quick wit will be missed unimaginably

The family would like to thank the many caregivers who made it possible for Gram to continue living in her own home, especially Natasha for providing love and comfort in her final days. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at St. James Cemetery in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send donations to Protectors of Animals, 144 Main Street, Unit 0, East Hartford, CT 06118 or the Michael Phelps Foundation, 7 Ocean Street, South Portland, ME 04106.
