Obituary of Anna H. Dunn
Anna H. (Eckert) Dunn, 89, of Manchester, wife of 58 years to the late Robert W. Dunn, Sr. died Friday (March 22, 2013) in California. Born in Irvington, NJ, she had lived in Manchester, CT for many years. Anna had a tremendous love of family and sports, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Jets. Her passion for the Yankees was endless, beginning at the age of 13 cheering for the Newark Bears (a New York Yankees Farm Team) all the way to the present, cheering on her team and favorite Yankee of all time Derek Jeter. Dining out with family and friends was also a great joy for Anna, especially for a cheeseburger or chili hot dog. She loved Frank Sinatra, and had a young heart and mind going as far as buying her own iPad at 88 years old. She is survived by her son Robert W. Dunn, Jr. dear family friend Elaine Otero of Manchester, her daughter Susan Awtry and her husband Robert of Valencia, CA, grandchildren Keith and Kyle Awtry of California, and great-grandchildren Taylor and David Johnson and Gwen Awtry. She is also survived by her nephew Mike Eckert and his wife Marie of California, and good friend David Johnson, Sr. Funeral service will be held on Saturday (March 30th) at 8:30 am at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester followed by burial in East Cemetery, Manchester. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 pm.
