Obituary of Matthew J. Hills

Matthew Hills, 37 years old of Willington, CT went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 2, 2023. He was born on June 3, 1986, at Hartford Hospital to Michael and Annette Hills. Matthew graduated from E.O. Smith High School in 2004. Thereafter he went on to become a talented tradesman and spent many years living in New Jersey prior to his recent return home to CT. Matthew had a great love for the outdoors and knew all the woods throughout Willington that he explored since he was a child. He loved the ocean and he loved fishing in the Fenton River. He loved God, soul winning and his family. He was also an avid New England Patriots fan. Matthew was kind to all he met and was always willing to help anyone. He believed in being non-judgmental and was truly a gentle soul.  

Matthew was predeceased by his beloved mother Annette Hills. He is survived by his father Michael Hills and his wife Joy Hills; his siblings and their spouses; Charles and Jennifer Hills of Plainville, Cathleen and Jason Wohllebe of Danielson, Michael John and Michelle Hills of Manchester, Patrick Hills and fiancée Monica Ferrero of Manchester, Robert and Tiffany Hills of Middletown, Peter Hills and fiancée Khalea Dancer of East Haven, Sean Hills of Uncasville and Jonathan Hills of Vernon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The lights of Matthew’s life were his step-children Jeremy, Zoey and Garrett, and their mother Katelynn Ludlam, whom he will forever watch over from above.

Center St., Manchester, on Thursday, October 12^th from 4 – 7 p.m. and Friday, October 13^th from 10 – 11 a.m. A funeral home service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in East Cemetery.
