Obituary of Edna Mae Jones
Edna Mae (Mahoney) Jones, 99, of Vernon and formerly Manchester, beloved wife of the late Michael F. Jones, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2023. Daughter of the late Stephen J. and Mary Alice (Trial) Mahoney, Edna was born on July 12, 1924, in Madison, Maine.
Edna graduated from high school and went on to become the Personal Coordinator at Hartford Hospital. She was voted Miss Business Belle and was featured in the Hartford Courant for her work with Hartford Hospital and she retired at the age of 65.
Edna is survived by her son, Michael Jones and his wife Diane of Enfield; her daughters, Laurene Kapinos of East Hampton, and Elaine Connery and her husband James of East Windsor; her grandchildren, Melissa Connery, Kimberly Hill, Michael Jones Jr., Paul Jones, Julie Dougherty, Joseph Sabot, Justin Kapinos and Stephanie Kapinos; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, September 22nd, at the Church of the Assumption, 27 Adams St. South, Manchester. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
