Obituary of Bruce Allen Hartwick

Bruce Allen Hartwick passed away Thursday, August 31st, 2023, in Manchester, CT. Born July 14th, 1934, to Forestt and Anna Hartwick in Springfield, Mass. After graduating from Buckley High School, he then went on to acquire an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 

 

Bruce worked in the Engineering Department at Ametek-Whitlock in West Hartford, CT for many years and later at NERC in CT and NJ before retiring.

 

While at Ametek-Whitlock, Bruce met his one true love, Bernice. The two were married April 22, 1967, at South United Methodist Church in Manchester, where they lived for 56 years. Bruce enjoyed skiing (snow and water), bowling, boating, fishing with friends and family and gardening, as well as going to innumerable tag sales and auctions all over New England. 

 

Bruce is survived by his wife Bernice.

 

He is also survived by his sister Marilyn Sheehan of Columbus, NC, his sister Carol (Tom) Ott of Milford, MI, his brother-in-law David Irwin of Manchester, CT and his sister-in-law Carol Diette of Jemison, AL, as well as 22 nieces and nephews in CT, MA, MI, MD, VA, HI, CO, PA, DE.

 

Viewing hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 7th followed by a 12:30 p.m. service at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
