Daughter of the late John and Ida (Kendrick). Bagley, Kathy was born on September 15, 1944, in Manchester, Connecticut.

Kathy was a member of the 1962 graduating class of Ellsworth High School in South Windsor, Connecticut. Kathryn went on to become a secretary at Colt Fire Arms in Hartford, Connecticut. It was there that she met the love of her life, Gerard F. Thibodeau. The two were married on September 13, 1969, and spent the next 54 years always by each other’s side. Kathy spent many years taking care of her family, but returned to the work force in the early 90’s and retired as the head rental agent from The Villa Apartments in 2008.

Kathy’s true pleasure was taking care of others. She was an active volunteer for MARC, Inc. of Manchester for many years, as well as at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center in Vernon. Additionally, she was an accomplished seamstress and spent many years running a successful business sewing pocketbooks; the Islander Bag her most popular creation. In her free time, she loved playing golf and was in a ladies league for many years at Minnechaug Country Club. She also was known for her baking skills with her chocolate cake and cheesecake being two of her finest. However, family brought Kathy the greatest joy. She found great pride in her grandchildren and was instrumental in their care during their early years. Later, she spent countless hours enjoying their sporting events, recitals, and school functions. Grammy was her greatest role!

Kathryn is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Susan McMahon, her husband Robert and their children, Michael, Sean and Molly. She also leaves behind Jill Matyka, her sister by choice. In death, Kathy, who is now pain free, joins her husband, Gerard, her parents, Jack and Idie, and her sister Justine (Tinty) Bagley.
