Obituary of Esteban Fraguada, Jr.

Esteban Fraguada, Jr. (40) of Manchester, CT, passed away unexpectedly last weekend. He leaves behind a legacy cherished by his surviving sisters: Adeline Fraguada and her husband Hector Sanchez, Jr., along with their three children – Naelah, Hector III, and Xavier; Stephanie Fraguada and her son Francisco Figueroa; and Jennifer Fraguada and her husband Roy. He is also fondly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Esteban Jr. is preceded in death by his father Esteban and his grandparents Marcial Reyes, Aida Reyes, Juana Castro, and Damaso Castro.

Fondly known as Steve or Stevie, Esteban Jr. was born on November 27th, 1982, in the Bronx, NY to Awilda and the late Esteban Fraguada. He had a passion for sports, particularly for football, baseball, and wrestling, and even after the family relocated from the Bronx to Manchester, CT in 2000, he never missed an opportunity to root for the NY Giants or the NY Yankees. After attending Manchester High School, Esteban’s professional journey included long-time employment both at Coca-Cola and then at the United States Postal Service as a mail handler. Outside of work, he had creative passions both in building bicycles and in grilling – his ribs and chicken wings were the best. 

Stevie embodied a spirit of compassion, care, empathy, and love. His willingness to openly express his emotions endeared him to all who knew him. He demonstrated unwavering devotion, consistently going above and beyond to ensure the well-being of those closest to him. Like his father, he enjoyed playing jokes all the time. His infectious laughter and radiant smile will forever remain etched in our memories. As he ascends to the heavenly realm, Stevie reunites with his father, embraced by an eternal bond of love. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT, during calling hours on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 4-7 pm.
