Obituary of John Randy Thrall

John (Randy) Thrall, 62, loving husband of Catherine Filloramo Thrall, passed away peacefully on March 6th, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born in Manchester on November 27, 1950; son of the late Elmer and Shirlie (Chagnon) Thrall. The youngest of four boys, Randy graduated from Manchester High School in 1969 and the University of New Haven in 1973. He was dedicated to the family school bus business as a teenager and continued his responsibilities for over 30 years. Randy was also an active member of the Connecticut Operators of School Transportation Association. Randy was passionate about antique collector cars and spent most of his free time travelling country wide to attend various shows and auctions. His hobby was best translated into his instrumental position in the organization of Manchester's "Cruisin' on Main St.", the second largest annual event in town. He was awarded Volunteer of the Year for his devoted work. Randy also participated in the Buick Club where he made many lasting friendships. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two adoring daughters, Katrina and Lily; his brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Thrall and Mason and Suzanne Thrall and his nieces and nephews, Jeff, Jen, Mason and Nichole. He also leaves his aunts and uncle, Steve and Angie Casalino, and Betty Clark and sisters and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Filloramo, Ann Filloramo, Carmine and Fran Filloramo and nieces Francine, Suzie, Gina, and Laura as well as many beloved cousins and close childhood friend, Steve Spak. He was predeceased by his brother Bradford, Mother and Father-in-Law Carmine and Suzanne Filloramo, and brother-in-law Francis Filloramo. Family and friends may call to the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, on Saturday (3/9) from 4 to 8. A funeral service will be held on Sunday (3/10) at 1pm at the funeral home.
