Obituary of Gail S. Callahan

Gail Stamler Callahan, 81, of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, at Hartford Hospital.

Gail was born in Manchester, CT on May 4, 1942. She graduated from Manchester High School, Class of 1960.

Gail was married to Michael on June 1, 1963, and just celebrated their 60th anniversary.

She worked as a paraprofessional at Nathan Hale Elementary School for over 25 years, where she made lifelong friends, retiring in 2006. She was passionate about education and enjoyed watching students learn.

She was happiest when she could go bowling and play a game of dominos or croquet with her family. She would frequently take trips to Cape Cod, and especially enjoyed when the flowers in her garden were in bloom. She watched golf and Nascar on the weekends and was an avid UConn Husky fan.

Gail, the most loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, is survived by her husband, Michael, children Tim and his wife Patti, their children Jacob, Brendan and his wife Jenna, and Megan. Her daughter Teri Gareau and her husband Chris and their children Jon and Sierra. Sister Judy Pitts and her brother Frank Stamler. Many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gail is preceded by her father Frank Stamler, mother Barbara, brother James Stamler, sister Barbara Miller and brother-in-law Frank Pitts.

Gail will forever be remembered as a kind, generous person with a contagious smile that would light up a room. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Family and friends may call on the John F.
