Obituary of Thomas G. Cantone, Sr.

Thomas G. Cantone, Sr., 91, passed peacefully on July 8th surrounded by family. He was born in Hartford, CT on December 27, 1931, to the late Samuel and Concetta Cantone. He attended school in Hartford and moved to Wethersfield with his family.

Tom was always passionate about his work and strived to be at the top of his game. He started his career as a milkman at A.C. Petersen and later moved to Manchester to own and operate two Exxon service stations. Tom eventually found his real passion in real estate. He became his own real estate broker and invested in several rental properties.  He opened Cantone Realty and shortly after was named President of the Manchester Board of Realtors. If there was a goal, he conquered it and he aimed to instill this spirit in his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by many.

Tom is survived by his five children, Deborah Petit and her husband, Joe of Manchester, Lynda Ferris and her husband, Joe of Manchester, Salvatore Cantone and his longtime partner, Jennifer Hedges of Vermont, Thomas Cantone Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Glastonbury and Jennifer Carrano and her significant other, Tyler Stanley of Bolton. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, whom he cherished. He is predeceased by his wife, Kathy Cantone, as well as two older sisters, Anne Mennella and Jean Martinelli.
